Goncalo Series
“Paul,” my friend called out as we were digging through the lumber stacks, “You gotta see this!” I peered over his shoulder, eyes wide, and smiled.
He was holding a thick slab of goncalo alves, a gorgeous variety of South American hardwood that doesn’t come around very often. It’s a dense species with a rich tone, and color that deepens but doesn’t fade.
We bought the entire stash and crafted this run of bodies, book matching each slab, creating the distinctive stripe along the spine. We paired it with an ultralight chambered center of linden wood and matching goncalo necks, creating a batch of guitars that are truly one of a kind.

Rosewood Series
For woodworking aficionados, rosewood is the Rolex. It’s the Ferrari. It’s sexy and luxurious, and it comes in a variety of flavors, each more gorgeous than the last. It was always a secret dream of mine to be able to craft some builds featuring rosewood beyond just the fretboard.
I hope one of these offerings catches your eye!

Zebrawood Series
The slab of zebrawood that gave birth to this series began its journey six thousand miles away, on the South Cameroon Plateau in West Africa. Its grain pattern was wild and lovely, and when I was working with it, I felt like a chef cooking with truffles or aged wagyu.
I designed this series to be eye-catching but I had no idea how fabulous they would be to play. A friend tested one and I was surprised at his grim, unsmiling face.
“What’s the matter?” I asked.
He shook his head, narrowed his eyes, and said: “You only built three!”

Natural Blond Series
Who doesn’t love flame maple?
This series uses locally sourced timber and has the lightest models in our catalogue. Each features our proprietary five-chamber construction and they’re the most resonant guitars we’ve ever made. Strum a chord unplugged and it rings for ages.
Why?
Because unlike a lot of semi-hollow electric builders, we don’t simply cut out a cavity and call it a day. We take the time to carefully connect each chamber using passages within the structure so that the sound waves can move freely throughout the body.
The result is unlike anything you’ve ever played.

Our story...
The roots of GCG stretch all the way back to 1992 when Paul Giroux, our chief designer built his first solid body in his uncle’s workshop. This was followed by a twenty-five year break for fine furniture commissions, but the love of lutherie never went away.
A few decades later, while playing in a local group, Paul met three musicians: Cal O’Connor, Josh Pilles, and Ryan Harrier. After a few jam sessions, the idea for Giroux Custom Guitars was born.
Our first production run came from a truckload of bowling lanes that were dropped on Paul’s doorstep. At a loss for what to do with so much recycled lumber, he began slicing and arranging until a pattern jumped out.
It took some time to dial in the process, but we knew we were on to something special.
We crafted our first Mosaic Line bodies and sold them to other builders, but as word spread and demand grew, we began crafting in-house necks for complete builds.
We went on to create two runs of Mosaics, 45 guitars in all, which by now bore a host of domestic and exotic hardwoods in ever-more-complex patterns. We followed up the Mosaics with the Reserve Line. The Reserve bodies are lighter, draped in polished lacquer, and capped front and back with the most beautiful domestic and exotic hardwoods we can find.
We’re excited to grow as more people fall in love with our work, and we can’t wait to custom build the guitar of your dreams!
